Named by the influential travel guide ‘Lonely Planet’ as the 3rd best city to visit in 2013, Hyberabad certainly has the right mix that any itinerant traveler seeks in a destination. A sense of history, a comingling of cultures, a fusion of the traditional and the modern, hidden surprises, a welcoming culture and above all, a distinct and enchanting cuisine. Once the capital of the Qutb Shahi and Asaf Jahi dynasties, the city is today famous around the world for its IT industry earning the moniker of ‘Cyberabad’. It was founded in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah who is said to have named the city after his queen ‘Hyder Mahal’.
